    The UK government has secured orders for millions of doses of several alternative vaccines. Many of the approved coronavirus vaccines are currently being administered across the UK. Several major coronavirus variants have identified in recent weeks and months. Regulators in the UK and the EU have been investigating a link between the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab and rare but potentially fatal blood clots (see ‘Is the Oxford vaccine safe? ’ below). No drug, including paracetamol, is 100 per cent safe from extremely rare allergic reactions. But after investigation into the risks of blood clots with the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, those under 30 will be offered an alternative. As things stand the vaccines will be rolled out as and when they become available.
