    In my practice, and I am sure most do, blood levels of Vitamin B12, folate, methylmalonic acid, homocysteine and TSH are regularly ordered if they were not previously done by other physicians. Patients with progressive cognitive impairment, especially those 60 years and older should have a vitamin D level included in their lab work.
