    If the tooth is inhaled the patient will need to be referred to hospital for a chest x-ray to confirm if the tooth is present in the lung or airway. If it’s not clear whether the tooth has been inhaled or swallowed, a chest x-ray should still be carried to confirm the location of the tooth.
